Lisa Gosselin Lynn’s passion for skiing started at an early age. Her mother, a former Mad River Glen skier, spent time as a ski bum in the Alps and later moved to Paris, where Lisa’s father was based. After completing high school in France, Lisa returned to the U.S. for college and became a journalist and editor. In Vermont, she met her husband, Angelo Lynn, publisher of The Addison Independent, The Mountain Times, Vermont Sports and what was, at the time, a small newspaper called Vermont
In 2020 the Vermont non-profit Unlikely Riders was established to promote diversity and inclusivity in alpine, backcountry and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, and other mountain sports. Founders Abby Crisostomo, Han Saydek, Amanda Moran, and Bettina Guevara were motivated by a desire to create a welcoming community for underrepresented groups regardless of their background to get outside and enjoy winter sports in Vermont.
